Policy Statement

PROCEDURE FOR PLAYING GOLF AT AUCHMILL GOLF COURSE.
It's important at this time to remember that the health and wellbeing of staff, members guests and families must come first. Auchmill Golf Club will ensure all safety measures are shared with all employees and that their health and wellbeing is the number one priority, encourage them to share any concerns and empower them to request that golfers adhere to social distancing measures and report any issues to managers. It is also a condition of membership that these procedures are implemented.
To avoid any spread of COVID-19 the Management of Auchmill Golf Club will implement and maintain the following;
On-Course Items
All rakes have been removed.
All benches have been sign-posted in such a way that players don’t touch them.

All other removable items have been removed, except that stakes defining areas of the course, they are treated as immovable obstructions.

Hole and Flagstick
Flagsticks should not be touched.

The hole cup has been inserted such that it stands out 1” to ensure the ball does not fall below the surface of the putting green and can be easily retrieved.

Practice Areas
Practice areas closed until further notice.

Before the Round
The Course will be open from 07.00am Saturday, & Sunday and from 08.00am Monday to Friday

Booking and allocation of tee times shall be undertaken online or by telephoning the starter box in advance between 08.00am and 5.00pm.

There will be 8-minute intervals between tee times for the first two weeks and then 8 minute intervals thereafter, longer intervals will be considered for family events.

The maximum number of golfers in a group per tee time will be three on Saturday mornings subject to the adherence of only mixing with one other household group.

At all other times Fourballs can be played as long as there is mixing with one other household Group.

Groups of three or four from different households are not allowed.

When booking tee times members must name player. “Member with” or “guest with” will not be allowed.

Payment will be by means of online booking, contactless at box or cash payment.

The team sheet will be monitored and players abusing the system will not be allowed advanced booking.

Arrival and Waiting to Play
The clubhouse and locker room facilities will be closed, however they will be open for two weeks to allow members to collect their golf clubs etc by appointment.

No access to toilets.

Starting times.
Please do not leave car or approach box until 8 minutes before your tee time.
There will be social distancing requirements in the area of the starter’s building in advance of golfers teeing off. The area will be lined off.

Hire of Equipment.
The starter will ensure that Buggies, trolleys or other items will not be hired until satisfied that sanitising practices have been conducted before and after use.

Practice Putting Green.
Priority of use will be to players in the next group due to tee off, each green will be separated.


Bunkers
Bunkers are to be treated as GUR for the first four weeks. When they return to play and with no rakes allowed on the course, golfers to make their very best efforts to smooth the sand using their club and/or their feet.

Putting Green
Only one person allowed on green and they must put out. Cup will be kept 1 inch high. Ball will be deemed to be holed out if it touches the cup and remains within one putter grip length from the cup.

After the Round
Social distancing is as important after a round as it is during the round, so when the round is over you must leave the course and the club/facility immediately so that there are no gatherings around the clubhouse area.

Finally Reminder Notice
Notices will be provided as follows
Help Beat COVID-19
• Do not Use Bins
• One person on the tee at all times.
• Keep 2 meters apart when waiting to go to the tee.
• Keep 2 meters apart when walking to the ball and playing shots.
• One person on the Green at all times and they must putt out.
• Do not touch stray balls.

Given the fluidity of the current situation there may be a requirement to update and re-issue this Policy at regular intervals to reflect future government advice
